About the DJ course

This course is designed for people interested in learning the old school skill of DJing. Turntable brands have made a comeback in recent years, bringing back the traditional art form of DJing with vinyl. Are you already a DJ? If that's the case, test your abilities without relying on technology and instead rely on your ear to tune in and become one with your music.

One of the most difficult challenge a DJ can face is mixing two records together. Over the course of eight weeks, we will abandon all digital technology, screens, and sync buttons in favor of practicing and developing our talents, training our hearing, and listening, touching, and engaging with music.

The program is designed to provide you with the fundamentals and beyond, including knowledge, experience, confidence, comprehension, and the ability to DJ.

This is a typical hardware course in which students will learn how to use the industry-standard Technics SL1200 and Pioneer PLX1000 setup to develop, hone, and master their talents. You'll also learn how to use time-coded vinyls in conjunction with Rekordbox to play your music if you don't already have vinyl collection yet.

You'll be able to use, beatmatch, and mix vinyl like a pro at the end of these lessons. You will have a complete comprehension of the art. Be at ease with a turntable DJ setup.
